Born to simple farmer Dr.Gunasekaran, 4th son of a poor little family, with no social and moral support, only with hunger to achieve his goal became first person in family to enter high school. As we know it is not a simple task to enter medical school later on, but not impossible, as he proved. With successful practise at pavoorchatram, quenching for more knowledge Dr Gunasekaran shanmugam did post graduation at 42yrs of age in general surgery at coimbatore medical college and reintroduced himself back to his very own home town with a gold medal in MS and later on did diplomo in laparoscopic surgery and some PhD works in his field. Especially in medical field there never steadiness unless updated, so here he goes and grows.
To be accepted as a good person in all aspects it not only took so much efforts but 28 long years since 1983.
Dr.gunasekaran is a man of great determination. I have not seen such a hard working,enthusiastic, surgeon with golden hands.He had made the laparoscopic surgeries feasible to the rural people.He teaches the techniques & encourages the juniors to perform surgeries.He is nifty on his hands and do bang-up surgeries on table.
